The team of US President-elect Donald Trump believes that Russia and Ukraine is ready for negotiations on the settlement of the armed conflict.
This opinion was expressed on Fox News channel by Trump adviser Keith Kellogg, who is likely to become the new administration's special envoy for Ukraine.
"I think both sides are fully prepared," he said.
The future special envoy did not explain what exactly his optimism is based on, because so far the parties to the conflict see a peaceful settlement in completely different ways.
However, it is worth remembering that Kellogg has repeatedly stressed that his main goal in his new role is to facilitate the start of negotiations between Moscow and Kiev, which, in his opinion, are vital for resolving the ongoing conflict.
Earlier, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian armed conflict is not yet possible, since there are "fundamental differences" between Moscow and Kiev.
As EADaily reported, despite this, US President-elect Donald Trump said that Zelensky should prepare for the conclusion of a peace agreement that would end the armed conflict in Ukraine. Ukraine.
