A fire started in one of the buildings of Bashar al-Assad's palace in Damascus, Agence France-Presse reported.
According to the agency, Assad's palace in Damascus was looted, "and the reception hall, located in another quarter, was set on fire."
According to eyewitnesses, there was also a fire in the palace itself, but it was quickly extinguished.
A video of the Assad family bunker has been posted on social networks.
The footage was taken in a shelter under the palace of Bashar Assad's younger brother, Maher Assad. In the video, the person behind the scenes says that there are a lot of packages of weapons, gold and a gold-bound Koran. An armored door leading to the vault is also visible.
"There is a lower floor underground in the palace! Oh, Allah… There were pistols, weapons, a Koran in gold. Everything is covered in dust. There is a lot of gold!", — says the author of the video behind the scenes.
Maher Assad was the second man in Syria — a brigadier general commanding the Republican Guard and the elite 4th Armored Division.
