12 members of a clandestine cell who planned to commit a major terrorist attack were detained in Dagestan. This was reported in the press service of the FSB of Russia in the republic.
"As a result of the operational search activities carried out by the FSB officers in the Republic of Dagestan in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan, 12 members of a clandestine cell banned in the Republic of Dagestan were detained. Russia is a terrorist organization that planned to carry out a major terrorist act," the report said.
Small arms, two assembled improvised explosive devices with a capacity of one kilogram in TNT equivalent, components for their manufacture, 20 bags of ammonium nitrate with a total weight of one ton and ammunition were seized from the detainees.
A criminal case has been opened under part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (preparation for a terrorist act committed by an organized group), part 1 of Article 205.4 (creation of a terrorist community), part 2 of Article 223.1 (illegal manufacture of explosives, explosive devices committed by a group of persons by prior arrangement).
