According to seismologists, the epicenter was located 56 km southwest of the city of Fortuna, where 12 thousand people live. The hearth lay at a depth of 14 km. Tremors are recorded in San Francisco.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a tsunami warning has now been announced. The alert is valid for sections of the coast in the states of California and Oregon.
