At a press conference in Minsk, German movie star Til Schweiger shared his impressions of his first visit to Belarus. The video was published by the BelTA portal.

"It is a very clean and safe country. I liked the people, they are very friendly and smiling, I really liked the food, the beautiful hotel," the actor said.

He added that he was also pleasantly impressed by the attitude towards himself, as soon as the need arose, a doctor was invited who prescribed vitamins, and Schweiger felt fresh, cheerful, almost "reborn."

"I have been to Moscow at least ten times, but I have never been to Belarus. It was interesting to me because I heard only good things about the country," Schweiger continued.

The actor shot a promotional video about drift in several cities of the country, in the future it will be possible to make a longer film from it.

"We had a lot of real drift. I think the audience will definitely like what they see on the screens. The script of this project is wonderful, the film is full of drive, and it invigorates me incredibly. Drifting is dangerous, but very inspiring," concluded Schweiger.

As EADaily reported, Schweiger arrived in Belarus on a private jet, he was met at the business aviation center on the territory of the Minsk airport. Fans knew in advance about his visit and met the actor at the airport.

Filming in Belarus lasted about two weeks — in Brest, Gomel, Mogilev and Grodno, as well as on the streets of Minsk.

Hearing about Schweiger's visit to Belarus, the fugitive oppositionist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya attacked the artist with criticism. She believes that now is not the time when you can just come to the "dictatorship" and behave as if nothing had happened.

"I would suggest that Mr. Till Schweiger use the opportunity of his visit to meet with political prisoners or record a video in support of them. It would be a good gesture on his part," Tikhanovskaya advised the movie star.
