Burkina Faso may become a new consumer of Russian oil. This possibility was announced by the country's Foreign Minister Karamoko Traore.
"We are a continental country that always needs fossil fuels. We import huge volumes of hydrocarbons to ensure the operation of our enterprises, so Burkina Faso is open, we buy fuel on the international market," the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the African country said during an interview with RIA Novosti at the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.
"And if Russia has opportunities in this area, then I think that, of course, our relevant ministries will study them," added Karamoko Traore.
In December 2022 EU banned oil imports from Russia by sea tankers and, together with the "Big Seven", introduced a limit on the price of Russian raw materials for third countries. Russian companies had to reorient supplies to Asia, Africa and South America.
