And how much more will it take? Ukraine has brought the United States to a triple split — Pushkov

On the issue of supporting Ukraine "as long as it takes" to "defeat Russia," there is a triple split in the United States. This was stated by Senator Alexei Pushkov.

The first is between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, the second is between Democrats and Republicans, and the third is inside the Joe Biden administration itself.

"The first and most important is between Trump and Harris. Trump says he intends to end the war. He promised Orban (Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. — EADaily) to sharply reduce military support for Ukraine. His vice presidential candidate Jay Vance is putting forward plans to get out of the crisis. But Harris calls the Trump—Vance approaches capitulation. The forces behind it intend to continue the course of the Biden administration in Ukraine.

The second split is between Democrats and Republicans, primarily Trumpists, who have significant positions in The US Congress. Trumpists oppose endless support for Ukraine: in their opinion, it is expensive, unjustified, and dangerous. Opinion polls also show that, unlike Democrats, a growing part of Republicans believes that the United States has already done enough for Ukraine. This split will persist regardless of the outcome of the election and will probably even intensify if Harris wins.

The third split is within the current Biden administration itself. Whereas Blinken (Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. — EADaily) and his ideologized State Department insist on continuing support until the "victory" of Ukraine, which already looks impossible, in the Pentagon, more realistic-minded generals are forced to keep in mind not only Ukraine, but also military support for Israel, and a possible clash with Iran, and a possible crisis around Taiwan with China's participation. And, accordingly, to calculate the available stocks of rocket technology, air defense, artillery shells, etc., realizing that these stocks will not be enough for all existing and possible future theaters of military operations.

The multiplicity of potential fronts of action is becoming an additional challenge to the US military capabilities. For this reason, even supporters of military support for Ukraine, in response to statements "we will help as much as necessary," are increasingly asking the question behind closed doors: "How much more will it take?"," Pushkov writes in his telegram channel.
