After Hezbollah announced the death of its secretary General Hassan Nasrallah as a result of the Israeli bombing of the party's headquarters in Harat Harik in the southern suburbs of Beirut, attention has now shifted to the figure who will succeed Nasrallah, whom his supporters call "Mister" or "Abu Hadi" in honor of his eldest son. who was killed in 1997 during the fighting with Israeli troops occupying southern Lebanon. This was reported today, September 29, by the Saudi edition of Al-Sharq Al-Awsat.

While on behalf of the Executive Council of the party, discussions began on the candidacy of Hashem Safi ad-Din for the post of party leader, a member of the Shura Council, information about which indicates that he was being trained for this position, in addition to the fact that he was the cousin of Nasrallah and the son-in-law of Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the forces."Quds", some information was received indicating that the deputy secretary General of the party, Sheikh Naim Qassem, would take over the leadership of the party, which was commented on by sources close to the party.

"Qassem can take over the leadership of the party at a temporary stage, but we must wait for the decision of the party," Hezbollah sources say.

According to Hezbollah's internal rules, it is the party's Shura Council that elects the general secretary, and in the event of a deadlock, the Supreme Leader of the Iranian Republic is likely to vote for a decision.

The Council is headed by the Secretary General, who is elected for a 3-year term, which can be extended after amendments to the internal charter of the party, which allowed Nasrallah to be re-elected several times.

The Shura Council consists of 7 members who make the most important decisions in the party, primarily on the election of the general secretary, while decisions are made in the council by a majority vote, and each of them also maintains a special dossier and manages a sector of the party.
