Honored Artist of Russia actor and director Mikhail Efremov, serving a sentence for a fatal accident, asked to be sent as a tanker to the SMO zone. This was reported by the telegram channel Shot with reference to a source from the entourage of the actor's family.
"At the very beginning of SMO (February 24, 2022. — Ed.) Efremov said that he wants to file a petition to be sent to the special operation zone. He also said that he was ready to be a tanker, because he knows how to drive, and he had to say goodbye to alcohol after landing. Then relatives and the management of the colony dissuaded him from this idea. In return, they offered to develop creatively within the walls of the colony, and also to work in a sewing workshop. A little later, Efremov was transferred to work in the library, where he gives out books and writes poetry," writes TK.
It is noted that at the moment the documents for parole are almost ready, they already have medical certificates of health status. In an ideal scenario, Efremov will celebrate the New Year at home.
As EADaily reported, on September 8, 2020, a Moscow court sentenced Mikhail Efremov to eight years in a penal colony for the death of a person in an accident. The court concluded that Efremov got behind the wheel drunk. Of the appointed term, Efremov served a little more than half, taking into account his stay in jail.
At the moment, Efremov has served 3.5 years of the total appointed term.
