Kiev is preparing the population of Ukraine for a referendum and peace talks with Russia, negotiations may begin at the end of 2024. This was stated to RIA Novosti by Turkish analyst Engin Ozer.
"In the last few weeks, it has been clearly observed how some experts and journalists close to the Ukrainian administration are preparing the people for a referendum and peace talks. Negotiations are likely to begin in mid—December," Ozer said.
In his opinion, a peace agreement will be signed in 2025, or a decision will be made to freeze the conflict. Ozer believes that the proof of his predictions is the recent visit of the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba to Beijing.
"A certain point in this sense has been reached," says the Turkish analyst.
He believes that the process began with the emergence of the prospect of Donald Trump's victory in the American elections.
"The Kiev administration is confident that if such a scenario arises, military assistance will decrease, and pressure on a diplomatic solution will increase. For this reason, both sides in the conflict zone are trying to consolidate their positions and strengthen their negotiating power before the start of negotiations. However, Trump's victory is far from obvious, so Zelensky will strengthen such peaceful rhetoric until November," the analyst believes.
