Lukashenko prepares Belarusians for his resignation as president

Alexander Lukashenko is preparing the people of Belarus for the fact that they will have another president. This was stated by the President of Belarus during a working trip to Mogilev region, according to the publication "SB. Belarus today".

So he answered the request of a resident of the agro-town of Gorodishche, Shklovsky district, to run for the upcoming presidential elections in 2025.

"I'm already publicly starting to tell all of you: you have to get used to the fact... that the president will be different. No, I'm not saying that tomorrow I'll leave you, the day after tomorrow, and so on. But everything in life happens. You have to get used to the fact that I am not eternal, like all of you," Lukashenko said, quoted by TASS.

He added that he must leave a peaceful and peaceful country to his successor.

"When I leave, I will live next to you somewhere in the village, I will come, and you will remember and thank that it has not gotten worse," Lukashenko stressed.

At a meeting in Gorodishche, he also spoke about yesterday's incident.

"Yesterday at 6:10 p.m., the air defense and Air Force forces on duty were put on high alert, readiness No. 1. It is not the first time that the Armed Forces of Ukraine, contrary to all rules of conduct, violated the airspace of Belarus in the eastern direction, in the Kostyukovichi district... Planes, a helicopter took off to intercept targets (there were about a dozen of them), and MLRS systems were put on high alert. At 19:04 at an altitude of one and a half kilometers and a range of 6.5 kilometers, air defense forces destroyed several targets over the territory of Belarus. The rest were transferred to Russia (we have a unified air defense system), and, according to the Russian General Staff, these targets were intercepted by Russian air defenses and hit near Yaroslavl," the Belarusian president said.
