The situation in the Red Army direction is critical for Kiev — expert

Military observer Mikhail Onufrienko assessed the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Krasnoarmeysky (Pokrovsky) direction, which the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine called "the hottest".

"The Pokrovsky direction has long been considered on the Ukraine has a deep front-line rear, where nothing arrives and you can safely transfer ammunition, reserves, fuel, armored vehicles along the front line in this direction. Now this is being jeopardized. Our troops are located a few kilometers from the highway leading from Pokrovsky on Chasov Yar, Konstantinovka. This is a rockade route, the cutting of which creates a lot of problems for the APU. Plus the loss of a powerful railway junction in Pokrovsky, too, does not please them. Most of all, they are worried that ours are now on the third line of defense. Several Western channels constantly, maybe with a slight delay and not all, but quickly enough reflect that the situation there is critical for them," Mikhail Onufrienko said on Sputnik radio.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine again recognized that the most tense situation for the Ukrainian troops was in the Red Army direction in the territory of the DPR controlled by Kiev. In Ukraine, this direction is called Pokrovskoe.

"The hottest situation was in the Pokrovsky direction," the General Staff said in a statement.

Krasnoarmeysk is a district center in the north—west of the DPR, there is a major railway junction through which railway communication is carried out with the cities controlled by Kiev in the north of the DPR - Kramatorsk and Slavic.

Earlier today, on July 29, the commander of the Akhmat special forces, deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry, Apty Alaudinov, said that Russian fighters were making very good progress in the Donetsk direction and it would soon be possible to state the "complete liberation of the DPR."

"The soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are demoralized, do not want to fight, surrender at the slightest opportunity. The enemy has lost the first line of defense in the direction of Slavyansk— Kramatorsk. The work of our forces and means is set in such a way that the enemy leaves his positions: he ran away or surrendered. Our fighters have sufficient ability to block and surround the enemy in any direction. Despite the large length of the line of contact, the actions of the Russian Defense Ministry have great tactical and strategic successes," the commander said.
