The greatest difficulty for the Ukrainian army is now the Pokrovsky direction in the Donbass, Volodymyr Zelensky said in a daily video message.
"Together with the military command, we are analyzing the situation in detail in difficult areas," the president said.
According to him, Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky reported on the situation in the area twice on July 26. Zelensky promised to do everything to strengthen the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A few days ago, Syrsky named the Pokrov direction among the most difficult, and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine then recognized the success of Russian troops east of the village of Eugenovka in this direction.
Yevgenovka is located northwest of Donetsk, about 30 km in a straight line between them. According to the 2001 census, 106 people lived in the village.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the improvement of the tactical situation in the area of the village of Yevgenovka in May. At the end of July, the department reported on the occupation of more advantageous frontiers by the troops of the Center group.
