South Ossetia and Syria have announced mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, a statement of the South Ossetian foreign ministry says.
EADaily reported earlier that today, on May 29, Syria recognized sovereignty of Abkhazia.
This year, it will be ten years since Russia recognized independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The republics were recognized by Nicaragua, Venezuela and some Pacific states.
