Russia and Egypt agreed on joint military drill

Representatives of the Russian Air force command and Egyptian Armed Forces have agreed on the nature of the forthcoming joint tactical military drill called “Defenders of Friendship 2018,” the Russian defense ministry has announced.

The drill will be conducted in military training areas and airdromes in Egypt.

“During the event, troops of the two countries are planned to train in issues of comprehensive communication in implementing a join operation on blocking and annihilating unlawful militant groups in a region in Egypt. The troops are planned to take some joint tactical actions, fulfill airdrop missions in several ways and practice field firing from light weapons and combat vehicles,” the Russian defense ministry informed.
