Russia’s wealth will be growing due to the Arctic – Putin

Industrial development of the Arctic, including extraction of raw materials, must be accompanied by care for nature, providing security and environmental safety, President of Russia Vladimir Putin has announced during his annual big press conference in Moscow today, on Dec 14.

“One must not forget about small nations of North, their traditional economic interests must be secured. If they contradict implementation of the federal programs there, they are to be given reimbursement,” Putin said.

Speaking of the Arctic reserves, Putin said that “Russia’s wealth will be growing due to the Arctic”.
