Interpol detained in Dubai Adil Toygonbayev, the son-in-law of the first President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayev.
Toygonbayev was wanted by both the Kyrgyz authorities and Interpol for a number of crimes.
Toygonbayev is the husband of Akayev’s elder daughter. Before Mar 2005, he controlled a number of mass media and companies in Kyrgyzstan and was among the richest people in that country.
