The situation over the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan Republic has become disastrous, it puts under threat lives and safety of the people in the left bank of the Dniester River, foreign minister of the republic Nina Shtanski believes.
“The situation over Transnistria has worsened dramatically,” she said in an interview to Zvezda TV-channel. “The blockade ring is built, Ukraine has blocked all our imports. We cannot fully meet our social obligations to the people. Ukraine has also violated the freedom of movement for Transnistrian citizens with Russian passports,” Shtanski noted.
She stressed that Ukraine blocked exports only during the first blockade in 2006. Now, imports from Ukraine are also banned.
The minister paid special attention to the fact that Ukraine has pulled numerous troops and weapons to the border with Transnistria and has been building extra fortification installations.
