Ukrainian armed forces have opened fire in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) for 29 within last 24 hours, a representative of the DPR defense ministry has announced today, on May 19.
This night only, they have fixed 19 shelling actions, he said, according to the Donetsk News Agency. The representative says shelling from heavy weapons intensified, while it was supposed to be pulled out from the dividing line in accordance with the Minsk agreements.
The shelling was targeted against Donetsk (Oktyabrsky village and territory of the airport) and Gorlovka, towns of Shirokino, Spartak, Zhabichevo, Logvinovo, Krasny Partisan, Lozovoye and Vasilyevka.
According to the DPR emergency ministry, a local resident was killed as a result of shelling in Kievsky district of Donetsk. Besides, an elderly woman was wounded.
As usually, the Ukrainian Armed Forces Commandment put the blame for the violation of truce upon the DPR. However, OSCE monitors’ website shows that the fire came from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, while the DPR forces were idle.
