Three candidates will run for the post of the president of Kazakhstan.

According to the Central Electoral Committee of Kazakhstan, the candidates are incumbent President, Leader of Nur Otan Party Nursultan Nazarbayev, member of the Communist People’s Party of Kazakhstan Turgun Syzdykov and President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan Abilgazi Kusainov.

The other 20 nominees have not been registered for different reasons.

According to Chairman of the Committee Bakhyt Meldeshov, the nominees that were denied registration failed to provide necessary documents, particularly, a declaration of property, an election fee certificate and the signatures of no fewer than 93,000 supporters.
