Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian and OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier met on sidelines of the 51st Munich Security Conference.
As Armenia’s Foreign Ministry press office told EAD on February 7, the sides dwelled upon the latest developments around the Karabakh peace process and the continuous efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group for peaceful resolution of the conflict.
Edward Nalbandian and Lamberto Zannier expressed deep concern over the latest escalation of the situation and made a point of the steps to defuse tensions in the region.
The sides discussed also other issues on agenda of the meeting, particularly, the OSCE’s activity in various fields, as well as the activity of the OSCE Office in Yerevan and the projects implemented in the country.
The situation on the Line of Contact of the Azerbaijani and Karabakh troops and on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border has escalated since the beginning of the year. The sides blame each other of the ceasefire violations and report casualties.
