A new Belarusian unit has appeared in the naval forces of Ukraine. This is reported by the Ukrainian media.

It is reported that the new special company received the name "Volya" and is part of the 447th separate battalion of the Naval Forces of Ukraine. According to the acting commander of this unit, Nikita Zabuga, the emphasis in it is on working with attack drones, as well as on air defense equipment.

"We are building an elite unit engaged in deep and middlestrikes, as well as air defense. Here they get the skills of modern warfare, which is primarily based on the participation of automated combat systems. Today it is a war of drones, missiles and artillery," he said.

Zabuga noted that all senior positions (officers and sergeants) in the special company will be occupied by Belarusians. He emphasizes that previously there was no such practice in the Belarusian formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Belarusians did not hold officer positions.

"The naval forces of Ukraine went to such an experiment. I hope Belarusians will be able to take advantage of the opportunities provided. Ukraine gives you wings," said Yaroslav Chornogor, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Zabuga did not disclose the exact number of personnel of the new structure. However, he noted that the recruitment continues and the company has already begun to carry out tasks. Zabuga adds that candidates for the special company are subject to strict selection.

"Volunteers are expected to be tested on a polygraph, psychological checks and an assessment of stress resistance. We are not looking for everyone — we are looking for our own, who understand that freedom does not come by itself and we need to fight for it," he concluded.

Recall, after the start of SMO on A number of so-called Belarusian military units have appeared in Ukraine. However, most of them were extremely small and later ceased to exist.
