President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev admitted that the leadership of the Ministry of Defense was formed mistakenly. This is reported by the telegram channel "Baraeva".
"After the tragedy with the death of 14 sailors, he dismissed not only the Minister of Defense. After him, the following were dismissed: commander-in—chief of the naval forces of Kazakhstan Kanat Niyazbekov, First Deputy Minister of Defense - Chief of the General Staff Kanysh Aubakirov, Deputy Minister of Defense Almaz Dzhumakeev. Aubakirov was promoted in January, Dzhumakeev was appointed in March. The one who initiated and the one who signed their appointments is the co-author of their failures. But you can't fire yourself," the telegram channel writes.
As previously reported, on September 24, during military exercises in western Kazakhstan, 17 servicemen were swept into the Caspian Sea. Three were rescued. 14 people died.
