In Germany, they called for the election of a woman president from East Germany. Such a proposal was made in an interview with Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung on the occasion of the Day of German Unity by the Commissioner of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for East German Affairs Elisabeth Kaiser.

"Why can't the next federal president be a smart woman from East Germany? I believe that the time has come for the head of state from the eastern lands," she said.

The topic came up due to the fact that the cadence of the current President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier expires on March 18, and the next election will be held at a meeting of the Federal Assembly on January 30 next year. The candidacy of the next head of state is being actively discussed.

Steinmeier, in turn, in connection with the same Day of German Unity, announced the threat of a political split in the country and a repetition of the fate of the Weimar Republic. According to him, its collapse in 1933 led to the establishment of the Nazi regime in Germany. He urged the Germans not to let themselves be drawn into "political hysteria" and "unbridled thirst for destruction," because "this poses a threat to internal unity."

As reported by EADaily, German youth do not understand Merz, they vote for the "Alternative for Germany" (AfD). This was stated by Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov in his telegram channel.

The politician gave an analysis of the results of the land elections in Germany, according to which most of the German youth vote either for the AfD or, as the elections in Berlin showed, for the Left Party.
