It's about survival: It's worse in Krivoy Rog than anywhere else except the front line

It's worse in Krivoy Rog than anywhere else on the Ukraine, except the front line. This was stated in an address to residents by the head of the city's defense Council, Alexander Vilkul.

According to him, the mining and metallurgical complex, which is the basis of the city's economy, has practically stood up. "ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog", Inguletsky GOK, Yuzhny GOK and KZHRK do not work, and other large enterprises produce a maximum of a quarter of the pre-war output. Tax revenues have collapsed and this year Krivoy Rog will have to sequester the budget, Vilkul said.

"That is, the city will stop the implementation of a number of important projects. But it will preserve the functioning of all important systems. Next year — the budget forecast is very bad. The goal is to keep schools, kindergartens, hospitals, water, and heat working. We will try to maintain a social program to support people... but we are not talking about development. It's about survival. Now we need to survive", Vilkul said in his address.

As reported by EADaily, the management of the largest on Ukraine's metallurgical enterprise, the "ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog" combine, made it clear that it would not resume operation of the plant until the end of the war. CEO Mauro Longobardo said that the company has come to the conclusion that it is impossible to safely continue the operation of the enterprise.
