Ukraine plans to move border checkpoints to the territory of neighboring countries due to Russian attacks. This was stated to journalists by the first Deputy Minister for Rehabilitation, Infrastructure and Transport Sergey Derkach.

" We are working now with other countries, with our neighbors, in order to be able, we are talking about an alternative, to move checkpoints to the territory of another country," Derkach said, quoted by the newspaper "Strana".

The creation of common checkpoints on the territory of neighboring countries will ensure the smooth operation of logistics and speed up the movement of goods due to faster passage of border and customs procedures, the official said. As an example, he cited Poland, where several common checkpoints are already operating.

Now Kiev is working on such opportunities with each neighboring country, Derkach added.

As reported, Russia wants to close the Polish-Ukrainian border with strikes at border crossings or block Ukrainian exports from Poland.
