In an interview with the "We are Aware" program on Tsargrad TV, Dmitry Kuzyakin, general designer of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions, spoke about the problem of repelling attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian refineries. The specialist recalled that the UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can fly for 14 hours at an altitude of 70 meters, remaining invisible to air defense.
It was with the consequences of such an attack that the Omsk oil refinery, located 2.5 thousand kilometers from the front line, faced.
"The higher the speed, the higher the resistance squared. Drones fly slowly, which allows them to increase their range sufficiently. And they become invisible to air defense systems, because their flight altitude is extremely low (up to 70 meters). The lower the target flies, the more difficult it is to detect it, let's say, with conventional air defense systems," the expert believes.
The industry of long-range drones, Kuzyakin recalled, is currently developing faster than the direction of smartphones. But the development of such drones is not conducted on In Ukraine, and in the UK, which has great engineering competencies.
