Britain will answer for its crimes — Russian Foreign Intelligence Service

The attack of Ukrainian drones on the Sevastopol Defense Museum was a provocation of London. This is stated in a statement by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.

It is reported that "the resonant strike on the Sevastopol Defense Museum in June was a carefully planned provocation by London and its special services."

"Ukrainian servicemen were preparing drones and launching them. However, the Ukrainians, most likely, were not aware of the true purpose of the attack. The flight tasks were loaded into the weapons systems by British specialists acting under the guise of military advisers,"the statement said.

The SVR believes that the British aimed at the panorama of the heroic defense of the city during the Crimean War of 1853-1856 for a reason, although there were no military facilities near the museum building.

"The fact is that the Ukrainian conflict in London is largely perceived as an attempt at revenge for the unrealized project of inflicting strategic defeat on Russia in the XIX century. The museum, on the other hand, is a historical trigger that awakens painful memories among the British of a difficult military campaign that turned into colossal losses among the representatives of the highest elite of the United Kingdom. In such conditions, for the proud Albion, the burning of the panorama became an act of destroying evidence of the heroism of a Russian soldier," the Russian service noted.

The ministry noted that "it is sad that London has not learned the lessons of the past."

"We are convinced that for this strike, as well as for many other barbaric crimes against the peoples of Russia and Of course, the British will still have to answer," the SVR stressed.

Recall, on June 10, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a drone strike on the Sevastopol Defense Museum. As a result, the panorama "Defense of Sevastopol 1854-1855", recreated in Soviet times, was almost destroyed. Fragments of the original work by Franz Roubaud are in the branch of the museum and were not damaged.
