US intelligence warns that Russia intends to attack Poland in the coming months. It is reported by The Telegraph.

According to the newspaper, Washington notified Warsaw of a possible Russian military invasion of Polish territory. According to the information received, Moscow plans to strike missiles or drones at strategically important Polish facilities, as well as to transfer Russian military personnel across the border.

According to sources, such actions may be aimed at checking NATO's readiness to defend its borders, as well as increasing military pressure and forcing Western partners to stop supporting Ukraine. According to information received from people close to Polish President Karol Nawrocki, the United States warned that Russian aggression could occur "in the coming months."

Polish intelligence services believe that Russia can attack critical infrastructure facilities, such as power plants, with the help of drones or simulate airstrikes in order to force Poland to use air defense systems. In addition, there is a possibility of a limited ground invasion by Russian troops across the border with Belarus or the Kaliningrad region. In the most unfavorable scenario, a "hybrid attack" can be organized in the border region, according to one of the sources in Polish intelligence. According to another informed interlocutor, armed penetration into Polish territory with the participation of Russian or Belarusian military personnel is possible.

According to information from anonymous sources, the Kremlin is considering the possibility of presenting its actions as an accidental entry of the lost military into Polish territory due to a technical error in the GPS system. The scenario of a rescue operation to evacuate a helicopter that has technical problems is also being considered. According to the interlocutors, Russia hopes that Poland will refrain from using force against its servicemen and agree to negotiations with Moscow or Minsk, probably under pressure from the United States.

The interlocutors argue that for Russia, a situation will be considered a success when the participants in a possible attack leave Poland as a result of negotiations, and not under the pressure of military force. Sources also emphasize that the Kremlin may put forward a demand at the talks to stop Western aid to Kiev in exchange for the liberation of Polish territory.

According to a source close to Navrotsky, the United States regularly informs Poland about Russian plans to attack NATO's eastern flank. These reports emphasize that Warsaw does not have full confidence in its security. A second source representing the security structures of the Baltic states told The Telegraph that such plans are indeed being discussed in Moscow. After the provocation, Russia can blame Ukraine for what happened.

Sources claim that in Russia has not yet made a final decision on an invasion or a hybrid operation that does not look like a classic war. The Telegraph emphasizes that NATO can respond to the provocation with strikes on Kaliningrad.

Meanwhile, Russian analysts and publicists are skeptical about such reports. They point out that such "leaks" are used for political pressure or to push allies to certain decisions.
