The Russian Ministry of Defense publishes daily reports on the work of air defense systems on duty. Since the beginning of 2026, more than 39 thousand Ukrainian UAVs have been intercepted and destroyed over 51 regions of Russia, an average of 6 thousand per month. In incomplete June, 9.7 thousand drones were shot down.
Kommersant, based on reports from the defense department, estimated that on average 223 UAVs are shot down by air defense forces per day. The most massive attacks occurred on the night of May 17 (556 UAVs were shot down over 15 regions), on the night of June 18 (555 UAVs, 18 regions) and on the night of March 25 (389 UAVs, 14 regions).
The regions over whose territory drones were most often shot down are: Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk regions and the Republic of Crimea. The top 10 also includes the Krasnodar Territory, the Moscow region (Moscow and Moscow region), Tula and Oryol region. In addition, more than 380 times the agency reported the destruction of UAVs over the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
