On June 25, the Romanian Ambassador to Moscow, Cristian Istrate, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry and handed a note declaring the Consul General of Romania persona non grata in Moscow. "This measure is a response to Bucharest's unjustified withdrawal of consent to the work of the Russian Consulate General in Constance and the announcement of its head persona non grata," the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.
