"He came to Kiev. He said that he brought the message directly to me and wants to receive a message from me and pass it on to Putin," Zelensky said.
Abramovich did not want this meeting to be publicized, he claims.
According to Zelensky, he conveyed to Russian President Vladimir Putin the refusal to withdraw troops from Donbass.
He (Zelensky) added that it was "no secret" that Abramovich had addressed them and that he wanted to understand "what we are ready for" in peace talks. However, Zelensky made it clear that he would not cede the disputed region of Donbass to Russia. He said, "That was the key message. I said we would not leave," the publication says.
