US President Donald Trump lost his temper and burst into obscene language during a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Axios portal claims, citing officials.

On Monday, Iranian parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf threatened to stop the negotiation process with the United States and oppose Israel if Tel Aviv continues to commit military actions against Lebanon. Sources told Axios that during a telephone conversation with Netanyahu, Trump called the Israeli prime minister "crazy" and, shouting, obscenely asked him what he was doing.

In addition, the American leader recalled the long-term trial of Netanyahu. The prime minister was accused of bribery, fraud and abuse of trust. Trump has repeatedly criticized this process, and in 2025 he sent a letter to Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog, in which he called for the termination of criminal proceedings and the "pardon" of Netanyahu.

"If it wasn't for me, you'd be in jail… Everyone hates you now. Because of this, everyone hates Israel," Trump allegedly said during a telephone conversation.

According to the portal, Trump knew that Hezbollah was shelling Israel, but in recent days he had the impression that Netanyahu was resorting to disproportionate escalation in response. In addition, the American leader is concerned about the number of victims in Lebanon.

As a result of negotiations in Washington on April 16, Lebanon and Israel reached a ceasefire agreement. Despite this, Tel Aviv continues to attack dozens of settlements in southern Lebanon every day and keeps a number of border settlements under fire control. Hezbollah retaliates by shelling Israel.
