Political scientist Marat Bashirov commented on the fact that the son of two-time Olympic champion in single skating Yevgeny Plushenko Alexander changed his sports citizenship.
"Plushenko, what are you doing there? It will not work to write off bad parenting. The guy is only 13 years old," the political scientist emphasized.
We'll check, but if it's true, "then so spit in Russia is mean," Bashirov writes in the telegram channel.
Earlier it became known that Gnom Gnomych will now play for Azerbaijan. According to RIA Novosti, citing an informed source, there are quite a lot of advanced single athletes in Russia, there was no place for Sasha in these conditions, there are stronger guys in his age group. It is assumed that this is why he thought about the transition.
"Sasha Plushenko will turn from an interesting but not very promising single player for Russia into a bridge between our country and Azerbaijan, which is quite influential in figure skating, for at least a couple of Olympic cycles," the agency quoted the source as saying.
According to the youngest Plushenko, he was given sports citizenship of Azerbaijan for five years.
"I hope that in the international arena I will be able to adequately represent our two countries and glorify my dad's academy," he said.
