According to him, at about 11 a.m., residents of the town of Krolevets heard a strong explosion. Shortly before that, a Ukrainian plane with suspended missiles, which could be seen from the ground, flew over the city in an easterly direction. The fighter was destroyed by a missile.
"The Ukrainian plane began an evasive maneuver, but did not have time. According to local residents, the plane was torn in half and the debris fell into the fields outside the city," Lebedev said, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Judging by the description of eyewitnesses, the destroyed fighter was an F-16, it flew from Nezhin, where one of the AFU air bases is located.
