French President Emmanuel Macron said that anti-French narratives in Africa are being promoted by Russia and other foreign powers. He said this at the Africa Forward summit, which ended on May 12 in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, Pressa24 reports.
It is noted that Macron called Russia and a number of other countries "real colonizers of the XXI century."
"French President Emmanuel Macron made a speech in which he announced his intention to invest tens of billions of euros in the economies of African states. Having practically withdrawn its troops from Africa, his country is not going to leave the Black Continent to China, the United States, Russia or Turkey and intends to protect its own interests there," Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes, in turn.
As EADaily reported, French President Emmanuel Macron raised his voice at the Africa Forward summit in Nairobi and reprimanded the audience for "disrespect." Macron interrupted the session on culture because of the noise in the hall.
