The Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted to attack the Plesetsk cosmodrome with drones on the day of the launch of broadband Internet access satellites. This was announced by the Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation Dmitry Bakanov at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 11.
"We had serious attempts to arrive at the cosmodrome that day," Bakanov said.
Despite the attack, the joint combat crews of Roscosmos and the space forces were able to successfully launch satellites.
The Plesetsk Cosmodrome is one of the key facilities of the Russian space infrastructure and is used for both military and civilian launches, including the development of satellite communication systems.
