Poland has started considering applications for the construction of a nuclear power plant

The Atomic Energy Agency of Poland received an application for permission to build the country's first nuclear power plant. This was reported in the Polish Ministry of Climate.

It is reported that the application to the National Atomic Energy Agency for permission to build a nuclear power plant was submitted by the company "Polish Nuclear Power Plants".

"We will analyze nuclear safety, as well as many issues related to the safety and stability of the operation of Poland's first large nuclear facility directly on site. I can assure you that both the Agency and the entire Ministry will treat this request and task as a priority. We are confident that in this way we are creating an important story," said Polish Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kleska.

Earlier, Poland opposed the construction of the Belarusian NPP, calling it unsafe. However, in In recent years, Warsaw has been explicitly stated that they themselves want to build a nuclear power plant. It is expected that the first Polish nuclear power plant will be built in Hochevo, in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The facility will consist of three power units with Westinghouse AP1000 nuclear reactors.
