US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that President Donald Trump has several options for action in connection with his stated goal of seizing Iranian oil. He stated this in an interview with ABC News.
"The president has several options for action, and the Ministry of War is preparing options for the president on this and various other unforeseen circumstances that may arise. This is something that should always happen in such situations," Rubio said, answering a journalist's question about the possibility of a ground operation.
As reported by EADaily, earlier Trump said he wanted to "seize oil in Iran" and control its exports in the same way as in Venezuela after the kidnapping of President Nicolas Maduro. According to him, the US military can take control of the island of Khark, through which 90% of Iran's oil exports pass.
