Ukraine's losses in the war amount to 55 thousand killed. This was stated in an interview with France-2 TV channel by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky.
At the same time, a large number of missing persons remain, he admitted.
"A year ago, in February 2025, Zelensky called the figure of 46 thousand dead. That is, based on Zelensky's information, Ukraine has lost 9,000 people in a year. Or 750 people per month. Or 25 people a day along the entire more than 1,200-kilometer front line," the publication comments on the picture of the day "Страна.иа ".
As for the missing, then, as the newspaper notes, according to the latest data from the Russian Foreign Ministry, since the summer of 2025, 12 thousand bodies of dead servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been transferred to the Ukrainian side.
"If we proceed from the figures of the dead named by Zelensky ... almost none of those transferred by the Russians was officially recognized by the Ukrainian authorities as the deceased military of the Defense Forces. Although this contradicts the information in open sources, where it often appears that families are notified of the recognition of their relatives, whose bodies were handed over by the Russians, as dead," Strana writes.
Earlier, the American analytical center CSIS ❶ estimated the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces killed at 100-140 thousand people.
