A powerful explosion occurred at the Kochetovka-2 railway station in the Tambov region. This is reported by Russian Railways.
It is noted that after the derailment of the freight train cars, gasoline tanks caught fire.
"In the Tambov region there was a derailment of freight train cars with the subsequent ignition of the transported cargo. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. Firefighters and recovery trains have been sent to the site. Train traffic through the station has been suspended," the report says.
The reasons for the incident are being investigated.
