The former acting chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian national company Ukrenergo, Alexei Brecht, was electrocuted. He was 47 years old, the company said in a statement.
It is specified that he died at his workplace — personally engaged in restoring power supply at one of the company's facilities.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine expressed condolences to Brecht's family and friends. The ministry did not specify the circumstances of the death.
Brecht served as Chairman of the Management Board of Ukrenergo from September 5, 2024 to June 30, 2025 — after the dismissal of Vladimir Kudritsky. Prior to that, he worked at the company for 23 years. Recently, he was a member of the Management Board and was responsible for the operation and development of the transmission system network.
