"I cannot stand idly by watching the president once again go beyond his powers and undermine the system of checks and balances," said the Democrat from Maryland.
According to her, the head of the White House acted without congressional authorization, as required by the American constitution, and also announced his intention to govern Venezuela after the capture of President Nicolas Maduro.
Speaking about the prospect of impeachment, she noted that it is about protecting the constitutional order and the role of the legislature.
Recall, the Trump administration stated that the operation in Venezuela had the nature of the execution of the warrant, it was carried out on the basis of the powers of the president as commander-in-chief.
