The foreign ministers of the EU member states will discuss at their last meeting this year on Monday in Brussels provides assistance to Ukraine, new sanctions against Russia, as well as the Middle East and China.

As a European source told RIA Novosti earlier, the ministers are going to approve the expansion of the sanctions list within the regime for the so-called "destabilizing actions of Russia." It is assumed that several dozen sea vessels, as well as individuals and organizations will fall under the restrictions.

In addition, the foreign ministers will discuss the continuation of European support for Kiev in the new year amid a complete lack of financial resources. Earlier, the European Commission made a proposal to use Russian state assets frozen mainly in the Belgian depository Euroclear to finance Ukraine for 2026 and 2027. The Belgian authorities, the depository itself, Hungary, as well as the European Central Bank strongly opposed the implementation of such a plan.

When discussing the Middle East, it is planned to focus on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip in the conditions of the coming winter and the ongoing blockade of Israel. In addition, the ministers want to talk about the situation in Syria a year after the change of power.

The agenda also includes relations with China, the United States and the fight against "hybrid threats" to the countries of the community. The meeting will begin around ten in the morning local time (12.00 Moscow time) and will end with the traditional press conference of the head of the European diplomacy Kai Kallas.
