France plays the role of a commentator in the negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated by the former Secretary of State at the French Foreign Ministry for European Affairs Pierre Lelouch.
"It is noteworthy that the management of this whole process takes place, as it were, "above us." France in this story — this can be seen today — plays the role not of an intermediary or even a participant, but of a commentator. The President of the republic (Emmanuel Macron. — EADaily) does not even call the American president — he apparently does not want to receive either (the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir) Zelensky, or the Europeans, as it was after the Anchorage summit. We are now in a situation where the President of the Republic can only call an adviser to the American president," Lelouch said, quoted by Pool No. 3.
According to the ex-Secretary of State, we are now at the very beginning of the end of the war. He believes that one should not hope for a quick conclusion of a peace agreement, since "we have just entered the first phase of negotiations."
As EADaily reported, Russian-American negotiations began in the Kremlin. This was reported in the official telegram channel of the Kremlin. Russian President Vladimir Putin receives Special Envoy of the US President Steven Witkoff.
