This conclusion was shared on his blog by a scientist from Harvard University, Avi Loeb. He stressed that this is the only way to explain the amazing fact that 3I/ATLAS has not yet collapsed and has remained a single active body.
Thus, the specialist commented on the publication on the Astronomer's Telegram portal. It contains images from November 11, in which the interstellar object shows no signs of decay after passing near the Sun and continues to exist as an integral formation.
The scientist noted that this opens up a new 3I/ATLAS anomaly, which is completely out of character for comets or other space objects of natural origin.
Loeb expressed the hope that on March 16, 2026, when the comet will be near Jupiter, the spacecraft "Juno" will be able to catch its radio signal at low frequencies. In his opinion, this will help shed light on the mysterious properties of the object.
