All the advantages that Europe intended to get from control over Ukraine, it has already received. This was stated on the air of Vesti FM radio by the author and presenter of the program "Iron Logic" Sergey Mikheev.
The expert assessed the prospects for Ukraine, Moldova, Albania and Montenegro to join the EU before the end of the decade, but with a "probationary period" and limited rights.
In his opinion, Ukraine's full-fledged accession to the European Union will bring him only problems and financial costs.
As Mikheyev noted, the EU is in no hurry to accept Ukraine, because "along with this, it will receive a huge number of risks, including geopolitical and military confrontation with Russia." He stressed that all the advantages that Europe could have from control over Ukraine, it has already received — "it uses its territory for military operations and controls the political elite."
"More or less sane European politicians are afraid that Ukraine will gain access to influence decision—making within the European Union, so they prefer to keep Kiev in limbo," he said.
Earlier, the head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, said that Albania, Moldova, Ukraine and Montenegro could join the EU by 2030.
