Donald Trump has two options for eliminating Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro — assassination and invasion. Political analyst Yuri Podolyaka wrote about this in his telegram channel.
According to the expert, the opposition in Venezuela has not only been suppressed, but has also lost a significant part of its electoral base due to mass migration. In such conditions, it is not necessary to count on internal riots.
"It is also not clear that Nicolas Maduro is eager to voluntarily leave his post. There are only two options left to eliminate it — murder and invasion. Both options are possible. At the same time, it should be understood that Trump has already said so much on this issue that he can no longer simply retreat. This will be perceived by everyone as another weakness, with corresponding consequences both for himself and for the United States as a whole," Podolyaka said.
He added that Venezuela is preparing for an invasion and air strikes.
"Moreover, the Venezuelan media write that it may begin within the next 48 hours (that is, immediately after election day — November 4)," the expert emphasized.
He noted that in recent days, the military transport bridge between Russia and Venezuela.
"Over the past week, our military transport IL-76s have been constantly bringing something here. I hope that's exactly what Venezuela needs most right now," Podolyaka concluded.
Earlier, Trump said that Maduro's days as president of Venezuela were numbered.
