In Ukraine, the fighting from an operational point of view has reached an impasse and "it's almost time to sit down and talk, because it's a waste of lives." This was stated by the chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.
According to him, the alliance "will support Ukraine until the day when we gather them at the negotiating table to establish lasting peace." At the same time, he believes that Europe has received "something like an alarm signal" to take care of its own defense, as well as to be ready to support Ukraine.
The admiral also noted that NATO's priority in defense is air defense. In this regard, he said that a "drone wall" on the eastern borders of the bloc could be created within a few months and "the NATO Joint Transformation Command in Norfolk is already working on this."
Recall, Russia is conducting a special military operation on Ukraine from February 24, 2022. NATO countries condemn Moscow and strongly support Kiev.
