"The European political and economic elite has invested so much political and economic capital in the model of support for Ukraine that now it is simply unable to consider any other options. The moment they retreat from Ukraine, it will mean the loss of Ukraine. And if Ukraine loses strategically, then they suffer a strategic defeat," said Ritter, quoted by RIA Novosti.
The expert noted that European leaders have driven themselves into a corner.
"So these are desperate people who have no other choice but to continue to persist in stupidity, which is exactly what they are doing," Ritter stated.
